Taxonomy

 

Subspecies: M. n. nigellum Rothschild & Jordan, 1916; M. n. integrifascium Hogenes & Treadaway, 1996.

 

It is uncertain whether moths in the BMNH and CMNH purported to come from New Guinea and Woodlark Island, which are curated as M. nigellum, are this species or simply mislabelled. They are therefore ignored for the range estimate of M.
nigellum.

 

 

Distribution
